Cheap Holidays to Lovran

Lovran is located on the eastern edge of the Istrian Peninsula and is one of the most picturesque and naturally charming destinations in the whole of the Adriatic region. It is surrounded by lush vegetation, is quieter than neighbouring Opatija and provides stunning views over Kvarner Bay. No matter who you are travelling with or what your preferences are, you can guarantee a wonderful holiday for everyone in Lovran.

One of the best things to do when visiting is to stroll along the Lungomare Coastal Promenade. This promenade is the peaceful and beautiful way to see the best of Lovran. The trail offshoots to some of the more popular beaches as well as secluded coves that are great for exploring or simply relaxing in. The promenade provides amazing views over the bay, is lined with aromatic pine trees and has a number of incredible villas to awe at.

Other attractions include a visit to St. Juraj Church which was built between the 12th and 13th centuries and is an important historic aspect of Lovran. If you are visiting in the month of June, you’re in luck as it is when the famous Croatian cherries ripen and are ready to be picked and eaten. Keep an eye out for “Cherry Days” in Lovran where cherries are included in a variety of dishes in cafes and restaurants across the town.
 

Summer Holidays in Lovran

Lovran has a great selection of accommodation to choose from to suit all budgets and tastes. There are the aforementioned fancy villas although most of these are privately owned. There are a number of great hotels with easy access to the beach, promenade and which provide amazing views of the sea. There are also more budget-friendly options such as B&Bs and apartments which are of a very high standard too.

The best time to visit Lovran for a holiday is during the summer months where the beach, bay and town are all at their bustling best. Much of the attractions here involve being outdoors in the wonderful Croatian climate, so this is why we don’t usually recommend the cooler late autumn - early spring months. The closest airport to Lovran is Rijeka Airport and it is located around a 45-minute drive away.
